From WooCommerce to FaStart.

WooCommerce gave you full control, and that's no small thing. On FaStart the upkeep comes to us and the decisions stay with you.

RoadmapThere's no importer yet; a move is planned with you from export files.

What comes over, and how

Hosting and plugin upkeep, the custom code inventory and moving the media are this move's main workstreams.

What comes over, and how
Ownership modelOn WooCommerceIt runs on your own hosting, and the server, updates and plugin upkeep are yours. On FaStartHosting and SSL are run on FaStart's side. We write down which jobs you hand over.
Catalog and ordersOn WooCommerceProducts, orders and customers export as CSVs.On FaStartWe map the CSV fields to FaStart's structure. Whether order history moves is decided while scoping.
Plugins and custom codeOn WooCommerceMuch of the work lives in plugins and in changes written into the theme's code.On FaStartWe list the job each plugin and snippet does, then note what has a built-in counterpart and what is still on our roadmap.
Media and imagesOn WooCommerceImages sit in wp-content/uploads and can be embedded in descriptions. On FaStartWe plan the media with the catalog and flag image addresses written into descriptions.

Your catalog comes first. Payments, carriers, marketplaces and e-invoices connect after it, each from its own page.

Before you start

  1. 01Take the product, order and customer CSV exports.
  2. 02Make a copy of the media in wp-content/uploads.
  3. 03Write down your plugins and the job each one does.
  4. 04Note what the custom code in your theme and functions.php does.
  5. 05Write out your permalink structure for the redirect map.
  6. 06Note your hosting and domain contract dates, and hold off cancelling until the move is checked.

Watch for these

  • Data held in plugins (SEO details, reviews, form entries) doesn't come with the product CSV, so each plugin needs its own export.
  • If your domain is bundled with your hosting, split them before the move. DNS access has to stay with you.
  • Custom code may have no one-to-one counterpart, so we describe the job, not the code. The storefront is rebuilt in FaStart's theme editor.

Plan your move from WooCommerce.

Your WooCommerce store keeps selling until you're ready.
