From Shopify to FaStart.

Shopify is a world-class platform. The order you built there is your biggest advantage in the move.

RoadmapThere's no importer yet; a move is planned with you from export files.

What comes over, and how

The app inventory, the subscription and its fees, and the URL map are this move's main workstreams.

What comes over, and how
Catalog and customersOn ShopifyProduct and customer records export as the standard CSVs.On FaStartWe map the CSV fields to FaStart's structure together. Customer transfer goes through a data protection review.
AppsOn ShopifyMost local needs are met by third-party apps from the app store. On FaStartWe list the job each app does, then note which have a built-in counterpart and which are still on our roadmap.
Subscription and feesOn ShopifyThe plan, the apps you add and the payment fees each carry their own price. On FaStartFaStart's plans and fees are all on the public pricing page, and help with the move is part of getting started.
URL structure and SEOOn ShopifyProducts live under /products and collections under /collections.On FaStartWe build the redirect map from old paths to new ones together, as part of the move plan.

Your catalog comes first. Payments, carriers, marketplaces and e-invoices connect after it, each from its own page.

Before you start

  1. 01Take the product and customer CSV exports, and keep the order export for your accounts.
  2. 02List the installed apps and note the job each one does.
  3. 03Download the theme's images and the media in your descriptions, and ask each app for the data it holds.
  4. 04Write out your URL patterns (products, collections, pages) for the redirect map.
  5. 05Make sure you can get into your domain registrar and your DNS.
  6. 06Keep the old store live until the move is checked, and cancel last, not first.

Watch for these

  • Data held in apps (reviews, subscriptions, loyalty points) doesn't come with the standard CSVs, so each app needs its own export.
  • If you sell in several markets and currencies, that setup is planned again on FaStart, market by market.
  • The theme doesn't move as it is, and the storefront is rebuilt in FaStart's theme editor.

Plan your move from Shopify.

Your Shopify store keeps selling until you're ready.
