One count behind everything you sell

Inventory is how many of each thing you have, where it is, and how many are already promised to customers.

In FaStart that count is one record for every place you sell, so a sale anywhere changes it everywhere.

What inventory keeps track of

  • Four numbers per variant

Each size and colour has its own on hand, set aside, available and on the way, so the blue M can run out on its own.

  • Low-stock alerts

Set a threshold for each product and see what's running low before a customer does.

  • Every change on record

    Roadmap

Recounts, returns and transfers each leave a line saying who made them and why.

  • Orders hold their items

An order sets its items aside the moment it's placed, and a cancellation puts them back on the shelf.

  • Purchase orders

Order from your supplier inside FaStart, then count the delivery in once and the stock goes up.

  • More than one place

Keep a count per location, a shop, a storeroom or a warehouse, and move stock between them with a transfer.

  • Marketplaces sell from the same count

    Roadmap

Your marketplace listings take from the same stock as your store, so the last one can't be sold twice.

  • The counter too

    Roadmap

What you sell in person comes off the same shelf count as your online orders.

  • Ally drafts the reorder

    Roadmap

When something sells faster than usual, Ally proposes the purchase order and waits for your OK.

Roadmap

Ally sees it coming.

When a product sells faster than usual, Ally proposes the reorder before the shelf is empty.

Ladd's, Portland

The rose serum is selling twice as fast this week and will run out by Friday. Reorder 40 bottles?

Send a purchase order for 40 bottles of rose serum to the usual supplier, to arrive on Thursday.

Questions about inventory

What's the difference between on hand and available?
On hand is what's on your shelf; available is what's left to sell once open orders have taken theirs. With 46 on the shelf and 6 promised, 40 are available.
What is a purchase order?
It's the order you send your supplier: what, how many and by when. When the delivery arrives, you count it in against the order and the stock goes up. Orders and stock aren't open to merchants yet.
Can I keep stock in more than one place?
Yes. Each location keeps its own count, and a transfer moves stock from one to another. Orders and stock aren't open to merchants yet.
Do my marketplaces sell from the same stock?
Yes: a sale on a marketplace lowers the count your store sells from, and the other way round. No marketplace is connected yet.
What does it cost?
Plans start at $39 a month, and the pricing page shows what each one includes.
